Offered for the first time, this book is the complete editions from 1979 to 1981 of TALK TALK, also known as the Midwest American Rock and Reggae Magazine edited by Bill Rich. Based in Lawrence KS, TALK TALK was a new music fanzine which evolved into the “Fresh Sounds From Middle America” compilations and then the Fresh Sounds record label. Containing record reviews, live reviews, photographs and interviews, the book is a cultural treasure from an earlier era.

Talk Talk was cool!

"America's most professional fanzine. British and reggae interviews, record reviews, local Kansas news."

Sub Pop #4, June 1981
"…has the feel of a place partially locked out of the cutting edge, such as it was, while being one still dying to take part regardless… Yet there’s still a real “college try” going on here to build a scene, and that’s worth admiring."

Jay Hinman, Fanzine Hemorrhage
“Another reason why Lawrence has made a mark on progressive music circles is the succession of fanzines published here, such as Talk Talk, Bullet and Blur.”
